ÌÇÐÄVlog

Summer Housing is available to current ÌÇÐÄVlog students who meet one of the following requirements: 

• Enrolled in ÌÇÐÄVlog summer term classes
• Faculty-sponsored research on campus or in Memphis
• A program or an internship on campus or within the Memphis area  
• Job (on campus or in Memphis, not connected with ÌÇÐÄVlog) 
• International student (unable to travel home)

• Note: Assignments are determined by the Office of Residence Life based on availability. 
   

Summer 1 

• Term 1/Maymester (May 24-June 25, 2027)
  • Students enrolled in summer courses for Term 1/Maymester, or
  • Students participating in groups, programs, and initiatives (including internships) that are sponsored by ÌÇÐÄVlog College offices, faculty, and staff.  
• Fellowship 8 (any 8 weeks between May 24-July 30, 2027)
  • Fellowship 8 Term housing is only available for students participating in fellowships or faculty research with ÌÇÐÄVlog College Faculty.
  • Students residing in housing for the Fellowship 8 Term must follow up with their sponsoring faculty member to apply for the Summer Fellowship Term.  
  • Fellowship 8 Early Bird rate is only available for fellowships and research students who move out before July 16, 2027.  
• Full Term (May 24-July 30, 2027)
  • Students enrolled in summer courses for Full Term, or
  • Students participating in groups, programs, and initiatives (including internships) that are sponsored by ÌÇÐÄVlog College offices, faculty, and staff.  

The length of each housing term is not flexible. Housing periods must correspond to one of the established Term 1, Fellowship 8, or Full terms. Residence Life will not make adjustments to the number of weeks within a selected term or create custom housing periods outside of these established options.
 

• Residency is not available outside of the established dates for Term 1/Maymester, Fellowship 8 Term, and Full Term.
• Housing fees will not be prorated if the student leaves before the end date of the term.
• The housing fee does not include meals. 

• Summer Housing Cancellation Fee – Students who cancel after 5 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2027, will be charged $350.

Individual students applying for Summer Housing (Term 1 or Full Term only)  

• Student applications must be submitted through the Housing Portal. 
• Summer Housing application deadline – 5 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2027. 
• Incomplete applications will not be considered. 
• Applications not submitted by the deadline will not be considered.      

Applications by participants in summer groups—including fellowships, programs, or initiatives sponsored by ÌÇÐÄVlog College offices, faculty, or staff—must be submitted by the sponsoring office, department, or faculty/staff member. 

• All participants residing in the residence halls (e.g., attending class, participating in fellowships and/or research, etc.) will be required to submit a Summer Housing Application and sign the Summer Housing Contract (located in the Housing Portal). 

The Office of Residence Life determines summer assignments. Summer housing is not guaranteed and is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Students and their faculty/staff coordinator will be notified via their ÌÇÐÄVlog email about their Summer Housing status on Friday, April 23, 2027. Students approved for summer residency will receive their assignment the week of April 26-30, 2027. 

• Rooms will be filled to occupancy.  
• Room swaps/changes (by preference) will not be available during summer housing.  
• Individuals (student or non-student summer program participants) are responsible for reading all summer housing terms and conditions before electronically signing and submitting the application.  
• Individuals (student or non-student summer program participants) residing in summer housing must follow all ÌÇÐÄVlog College policies. 
   

• Move-In (All Terms): Friday, May 21, 2027, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Office of Residence Life)
• For programs with students arriving after hours or on weekends, the Office of Residence Life can prepare keys in advance for the faculty research lead or fellowship chair to pick up during business hours. The faculty representative will be responsible for distributing keys to participating students, ensuring each student completes the required key receipt/sign-in paperwork, and returning the completed documentation to the Office of Residence Life in a timely manner.
• NOTE: The Physical Plant staff will require adequate time to clean and address any facilities concerns in the residence halls between spring and summer occupancy. This may impact move-in dates. 
• Students may request transition housing while waiting for their summer residence hall assignment (remaining in their spring housing assignment until the summer assignments are ready).
  • Students must receive written approval from the Office of Residence Life to remain in transition housing.  
  • Students who will transition to summer housing will be charged $75.00 per night for transition housing.
    • Summer Transition Housing will begin Sunday, May 9, 2027
  • Students who are found in housing without approval will be charged $250.00 per night after the last day of Spring Check-Out.  If the student was assigned housing for the summer, their assignment will be administratively canceled.  
• Move-Out Dates:
  • Summer Term 1/Maymester (5 Weeks) – June 26, 2027
  • Fellowship 8 Term - July 31, 2027
  • Full Term (11 Weeks) – July 31, 2027
     

Residents are prohibited from storing their belongings on campus without being approved for residency (e.g., this also includes storing belongings in another student’s room). If the item(s) is not removed by the student’s move-out date, it will be removed, and the student will be charged.
